Rambutan Literary

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Rambutan Literary accepts submissions of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. We also accept artwork (photography, paintings, etc.) for our art features.

We do accept translations of written works. Aside from translated works, we ask that you submit your own work either mostly in English or provide a translation into English. If you submit an untranslated piece entirely in another language, we'll just be very confused.

We accept previously published work, but would prefer to see new pieces submitted. By submitting to Rambutanyou agree to allow us to publish your work both online and in our digital magazine, as well as in any later print anthologies.

While we understand that Southeast Asia has been a region simmering with ethnic and political conflict, please refrain from submitting any work promoting racism or any sort of bigotry. These pieces will not be considered for publication and will be discarded from our inboxes.

Our ROOTS section is focused primarily on mainland and maritime Southeast Asia, while our BRANCHES section focuses primarily on the Southeast Asian diaspora.

Please keep all submissions under 2,000 words. Please also do not send more than three poems, or, if submitting fiction or nonfiction, please do not send more than one piece.

We look forward to reading your work!
